Is Henna hair dye better than dye from the store?

Is it permanent, and would it be able to get my light blonde hair black? I'm trying to grow my hair out to my waist so I'm trying to think of less damaging ways to dye my hair.

Is Henna hair dye better than dye from the store?

Henna is a natural dye made from the henna plant.

It only comes in one color if it is pure henna. The dye color will be red. You would not be able to dye your blonde hair black with it.

You can use indigo for black hair though.

Some sellers are selling cheap inferior henna with no dye content and leaves a strong odor in your hair for days.

Stick with good quality henna for great color and no smelly hair.http://www.hennacaravan.com/shop/hair.ht...

Is Henna hair dye better than dye from the store?

I thought it hurts your hair?

That's just what I thought though, I'm kind of stupid when it comes to stuff like that.

I think it's VERY different from regular hair dye.

Is Henna hair dye better than dye from the store?

Henna die isnt bad for your hair, it it will prevent you from coloring your hair anytime soon with anything but henna! It will make other dies placed on your be unpredictable. Though over all color isnt very damaging...unless you are bleaching!

Is Henna hair dye better than dye from the store?

Henna is the best dye for hair and is perfectly natural. It nourisehes your hair, makes it dark and if you add tea powder to an equal part of henna you'll have a red hair under the shadow of a sunshine. And don't use a strong kind of shampoo coz you'll wash it all away.

Hair dye help please?!?

I went to the hairdressers today and got my hair streaked. I really like the turnout and when she was doing my streaks she had to use bleach and it therefore turned my hair a very yellowish copper blonde. She then put a blue shampoo treatment on it and it turned a nice more ash blonde..almost a whitish color. My question is, when you put streaks on at home, they always turn an orangy color, so if you put on a blue shampoo like you can get a drugstores, will it make them an ash blonde like mine turned out? Or is that just because she has a special kind of dye?

Hair dye help please?!?

you must have naturally dark hair. when you bleach it, it doesn't come up as light as if you had a lighter hair color. the yellowish copper blond you are talking about is called brassy. i doubt it was a shampoo she put in it. most likely a toner. to tone it down and give it a lovely shade of ash blond. you can buy toners at beauty supply shops, never seen them in drug stores.

(toners are a hair dye, not a bleach)

Hair dye help please?!?

I think they use a special kind of stuff...its probably cause you have copper highlights naturally

Hair Dye Color Help?

ok my hair color is brown right now. and I want my hair to be like golden beige color. So should I get a dirty blonde dye so it can turn out light..but NOT blonde??

Hair Dye Color Help?

Okay, well actually I'd suggest getting a professional to do it, as blonde is a very hard color transition, especially for a girl with darker hair.

If you do want to do it on your own, though I don't suggest it myself, try getting a color that's actually two to three shades LIGHTER than your desired color, because it'll come out darker than intended when being dyed with brown hair.

A lot of hair dyes now have a scale on the side that shows how the color will look when applied to light hair, dark hair, red hair, etc. Look for those, and see which works best for you. Good luck, and enjoy your new found blonde goddess!

Hair Dye Color Help?

hard to say without seeing the color you want .But mainly it will turn out blonde.Or orangy or reddish.Leave it to the pro's.

Hair Dye Color Help?

Depending on how dark you hair color is, you may just come out with a muddy brown color (been there done that I have a chocolate brown color). Brown hair tends to turn red before blonde. if you have gold highlights, you will get a golden color, if you have red highlights you will turn red before you go gold or blonde.

Hair Dye Color Help?

HI BROWNIE, in my pro opinion, if you have red hiligths you will never get that color if you don't than you will achieve something close. try a extra neutral beige or if you totally strip all the color out you can any shade you like good luck

Does hair dye work on fur pelts?

I'm wanting to dye an arctic fox black then use parts for a jacket. Will using hair dye work or will i have to use special dye made for fur?

Does hair dye work on fur pelts?

yes hair dye should work providing the fur is washable. i would defiantly do a sample piece. just cut a small piece off and dye it first. the hair dye will make the fur coarser. you need to get a dye that has no lift (that means you are depositing color only). i know sally's beauty supply caries these, i don't know off the top of my head which brand to use. one thing you need to be really careful about is black and red dye both tend to bleed. you may want to wash the fur several times to get rid of any color that isn't absorbed well. you wouldn't want to get caught in the rain or perspire and have your other clothing turn black.

have you searched the internet for fur dye?

i did a search and found an article here that you may want to read before you proceed.

http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/dyelog/B106...

good luck.

Does hair dye work on fur pelts?

Normal dye will work fine. Believe me, that permanent black dye stains on freakin' EVERYTHING.

On the other hand... what is WOULD do is make the fur coarser. It might be safer to use some other ink, but I don't know what kind....

Does hair dye work on fur pelts?

That's awful! Why don't you just use fur that's already black? I'm not a fan of animal fur anyways, being that there are so many great "faux" furs out there that are far less expensive...

I'm sure the hair dye would work, but that's just ridiculous...

Does hair dye work on fur pelts?

lt should. give lt a try

Hair dye allergy question?

if you put hairdye all over your hair, but not on your roots or scalp, will it stop you from having a hair dye allergy? im not allergic, but very worried incase i will be...

Hair dye allergy question?

just do a skin test 24 hours before mix a small amount of dye on the inside of you arm or your neck if you suffer any burning or reddness dont use it .

Hair dye allergy question?

no it wont stop you having an allergic reaction. If you are worried then use a hypo-allergenic hair dye. They are a little bit more expensive but there is less risk of having an allergic reaction to it.

Hair dye allergy question?

The die will still reach the scalp anyway. Do a patch test first and make sure the die does NOT have PPD in. That is waht causes the reaction. I would recomend just going to the hair dresser but of course this can be pricey. Just be carful x

Hair dye allergy question?

If the dye doesn't touch the skin you should be ok.

Do a skin test 24 hours before is the only way to really check. If you get cap or foil hi-lites the dye wouldn't touch the scalp so should be ok too.

Be careful if your taking medication i was taking some and it made me allergic to dye. After i'd finished the treatment i was fine.

Hair dye allergy question?

You should do a patchtest before you dye your hair.

Use a pea size amount of die and rub it into your inner arm (the inner bit of the elbow) leave on for 24 hours and if there are no itchyness or red blotches etc you are not allergic if there are any red blotches or any irritation etc..do not use the hair dye

Hair dye allergy question?

Unless the color is put into foils, it will get on your scalp....its almost impossible to keep color totally off the scalp.

Are you allergic to ammonia? Have you had a reaction in the past to any hair color? These are things to discuss with your stylist. Tell your stylist about your concerns.

Your stylist/colorist can perform a skin test on you first, if you have no reaction in 24-48 hours...you should be safe.

Good luck.

Hair dye allergy question?

That is the whole point of testing before hand - read the leaflet!

Hair dye allergy question?

do a sample test to see if you are, you need to do your roots if you do the whole of your head or it will look like you have bad roots.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How long can I leave RAW hair dye in?

Okay. Little over two weeks ago, I bleached my hair and dyed it using RAW brand Deep Purple. I love the color, it's gorgeous, but it's starting to fade a bit so I'm re-dyeing it the same color, same brand. I've read in quite a few places that the longer you leave semi-permanent hair dye in before you wash it out, the longer it lasts. I was wondering if this was true or not. (I know you can't do something like that with permanent hair dye.) I only left it in for 20 minutes last time, and while I know two weeks isn't too bad, and I'm willing to dye it that often, it would be amazing if I could get it to last longer by doing something as simple as leaving the dye in longer. Any advice is greatly appreciated! thanks!

How long can I leave RAW hair dye in?

if its a true semi permanent, which you dont mix it with anything, just apply and wait, then you can leave it in as long as you like. it wont deposit when dry. apply it to slightly damp, freshly washed *not conditioned* hair. Ive left semi's in for over an hour with no damage, and im a stylist, I know how to play around without killing it. condition after you rinse the color out. the idea is you want the dye to sink in to the clean hair, then seal it in with conditioner, not apply the color to already sealed hair. It lasts longer this way.

How long does permanent hair dye last?

I died my hair red about three years ago. I've then since gotten many haircuts. My hair is naturally reddish, but my sister insists that it is because of the hair dye, and she insists African-Americans cannot have reddish hair. Is it possible for the hair dye to have stayed and not faded for three years? I know the answer, but I want to prove it to my sister. Thank you!

How long does permanent hair dye last?

HAHAHHAAAHAHA!!!! NOPE! "Permanant" hair dye, even with the best shampoos that are specifically for color treated hair, will NOT keep the color for three years. It will always fade, usually due to environmental factors such as sun, dry elements, etc., not to mention that your roots would have grown out by now! Sorry sister....the girl is a redhead!

How long does permanent hair dye last?

it should last for a couple of years probably

How long does permanent hair dye last?

Permanent hair dye is permanent. It stays in until the hair grows out and is cut off.

How long does permanent hair dye last?

Just like a relaxer, it grows out and you would require retouches. Reds usually fade if anything. If it's an even color there you have it, it's yours

How long does permanent hair dye last?

Hair grows at the rate of half an inch a month, therefore in three years the colour will have grown out by 18 inches from the roots.

Hope this helps.

How long does permanent hair dye last?

I all depend on the kind you get I would say I have gray and it don't stay on me over 2 weeks so If you go the right place and get the right one it will last at least. for a while. the one you buy from the store they real don't last that long ever when they say permanent not like 2 months the most is 3 week good after that you can see where it's coming back. Yes you can have reddish hair lady in my Church does and her girls. dye don't stay that long on. My sister have black hair and she dye it black after about 2 months maybe not that long it gone she have to do it again so she stop and not her hair is gray all over she dye it and it goes back to gray you don't have to cut it off relaxer you do but color it grows off you hair has your hair grow. I took beautician in high school. it want stay no 3 year with out going back to your natural color. not that long

How long does permanent hair dye last?

I know an African American friend of mine has naturally black hair with a beautiful natural hue of red in it. Now for me hair dye usually fades out of my hair within a year or two

How long does permanent hair dye last?

I would believe that it is possible for your hair to not fade and stay the same color for 3 years, but I think if you are using a shampoo for colored hair it is even more likely. The only thing is that your hair would have had to grow out some and over three years you would think that your hair dye would be long gone since you have cut your hair, unless you have died it since.

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

Okay, in about a week, I have a play. I need burgandyish colored hair. The wig I was going to use went down in a fire and there's not enough time to order a new one.

The reason why I was wearing a wig in the first place is because my hair is so damaged from dye, that it would severly break off if I dyed it burgandy.

My hair color right now is med. brown. Would the koolaid hairdye work for me to go to burgandy?

If so, how do I make it?

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

this is old school hair dying alot of women did it in the 60's 70's and as I remember the 80's its safe and washes out with every wash its like a rinse you have to make a thick paste of it just two packs of red kol aid and a little bit of water and let that sit in your hair for about 30-45 min then rinse out and condition

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

ive done this before i mixed conditioner with the kool aid to make a paste then applied it let it sit in the hair for 30 with a plastic cap under the drier then rinsed it out and there was my burgundy. Report It

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

I'm not sure how to make it but a girl I knew used it once and it got all over the place. Like it didn't stay in her hair and it looked horrible. She had it all over her shirt and pants. I don't think you should use kool-aid. They have temporary dyes that shouldn't damage your hair so much. They wash out after a few shampooings. Good luck. =)

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

No, kool-aid doesnt work at all. And you would have to bleach it first. Use some of that temporary foam dye. I think its called loreal color pulse. It doesnt damage your hair.

Kool aid hair dye? How to make it?

There was this one "goth" chick that tried to dye her hair blue with Koolaid, I guess she went to bed, woke up with blue on the sides of her face and on her hands.

You can try it just don't touch anything. But since you're going to be seen in public with it, don't, not worth the embarrassment.

Go with a dye that will come out in a few washes.

Best hair dye brand for fading?

I have red hair, and I like to dye it bright red or dark red colors. Red fades easily as it is, and I was wondering if anyone knew what would be the best brand of dye to buy that would take the longest to fade. And, any other suggestions on fading? I don't like to have to dye it too often, because it is damaging.

Best hair dye brand for fading?

A couple of things

When you do your hair, don't do it the same day you washed it - a little oil in the hair actually helps, without the oil your hair "grabs" the color too quick and that can cause fading.

After you do it and rinse it out, use a good conditioner on it, let the conditioner sit on your head for 10 -15 minutes before you rinse it out.

Wash your hair as little as possible, and avoid chlorine. When you do wash it, use the coolest water you can take and a shampoo formulated for colored hair.

I've actually had good luck with Revlon colorsilk - I can't use anything with ammonia, so most of the other brands don't work for me.

As long as you don't perm your hair, you can color it every 4 weeks without damaging it (as long as you're using color shampoo and conditoiner).

Best hair dye brand for fading?

i have had the best luck with Feria.. doesn't seem to fade much..

Best hair dye brand for fading?

One word LOREAL (Excellence or Preference)

......"You're worth it!!!"

Best hair dye brand for fading?

I agree with BB , Feria is the way to go

Best hair dye brand for fading?

There are shampoos that you can buy that dont strip color out of your hair. so try to find a color friendly shampoo and or conditioner. That should delay fading.

Best hair dye brand for fading?

Feria for sure .. its much better quality

Hair dye gone wrong ?

I dyed my hair purple a week or so ago and when i shower hsit dye still comes out. Is that meant to happen?

Hair dye gone wrong ?

If you used a rinse or semi-permanent color it will continue coming out until it gone. Permanent dyes are not supposed to come out unless you didn't rinse it thoroughly.

Hair dye gone wrong ?

usually that works on a rinse hair dye but whatever hair dye you use the vrand try to find the shampoo and conditioner and everthing and use that the color shouldnt come out

Hair dye gone wrong ?

How much a hair dye stays in the hair - how much the hair 'grabs' color - depends on alot of different things - your race and any previous hair color products on the hair - as well as any damage, natural color, and hair products/styling methods you use.

In general, the funky colors - green, shocking red, pink, blue, purple, etc - are semi-permenant color and are meant to wash out. I know there are some permanent ones out there - and thats where the condition of your hair and all the things I mentioned aboce comes in to play.

Hair dye gone wrong ?

When I was in high school, I would dye my hair all the time. Unfortunately enough, I'm 22 now and can't any longer get away with it. If you are using non-permeant stuff (example: Manic Panic), it gradually comes out. So, after a shower just use some rubbing alcohol to get the color off. I think.. to get the color to stay longer, you're supposed to bleach your hair before you use the color. Okay, well keep rockin' the color.

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

We have a hair day at school so i decided to dye my hair with non-prmanent hair dye. My parents still went beserk about it and wanted one that washed out in one go, so is there such a thing as that and if there is what brand?

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

Here at www.salon-sales.co.uk we stock coloured Gels that coat the hair and can wash out in one go. These are in funky colours. Hair colours that are called stains can grab porous hair be difficult to get out. This has probably occured in your case.

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

Get hair color spray. Non- permanet hair dye will stay longer than a few days, trust me. I am sure you can find it at a local drug store, it's just like spray on stuff.

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

Yes there is try the loreal color pulse it gives you a great dramatic color there are so many shades to choose from and the best part is that it washes away in 8-12 shampoos or less! trust me it works!!

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

Try going to Hot Topic, Spencers, etc. Teen-oriented stores like that. I have a jar of this funky goo that I just rub into my hair and it washes out. Better yet, try Color Pulse. You can get it at virtually any store. It takes about 5-8 washes to get it out, but it is one of the few -temporary' dyes that actually ARE temporary! If all else fails, use Kool-Aid.

Non-permanent Hair Dye?

The only kind of hair dye that washes out in one-go would be spray hair dye that is about $3 dollars at any Party store like Party City in USA. It is really messy though and messes up your hair really bad (makes it tangly and fall out while it is in.) Other than that, semi perminant dye such as "Creative Image ADORE" hair dye washes out within 6 weeks, and may take longer if you have light hair naturally (light brown, blonde, dirty blonde, strawberry-red.)

Manic Panic Hair Dye..?

I'm Bleaching My Hair Before I Dye It Any Other Colour..

I Jw, On Most Sites Selling MP Hair Dye, It Says 'Semi-Permanent' But In What Context Do They Mean. o.o

Like Does It Wash Out After So Long Or Just Fade?

I Wash My Hair Everyday So If I Did Use It How Long Would It Last.

And If It Washes Out, Don't They Do Like A Permanent One Or Somthing? -.o

Manic Panic Hair Dye..?

First on bleaching your hair: Using bleach for lightening hair is more risky than most hair coloring processes; however, the reward can be great.

Bleaching your hair effectively strips what appears to be our "natural" hair color, exposing the underlying pigment lurking beneath the surface. Depending on how dark your hair is naturally, your underlying pigment could range from rusty orange to pale yellow.

Removing those pigments allows for a true neutral, ash or platinum blonde. If you want to lighten hair more than 3 or 4 shades or achieve a very bright punk hair color, bleach is the best product to use.

Okay, now to answer your questions.

1. Semi permanant means that it usually faddes out quickly or washes out.

2. Most semi permanant hari colorings last about 24 washings...so, if you wash your hair daily that would be 24 days.

3. Thre are pemananant hair colors, but they too fade with time and need to be touched up about every four to six weeks.

Manic Panic Hair Dye..?

I haven't seen a Manic Panic permanent hair dye. Me and my husband use the semi-permanent a lot and it will start to fade. The little containers don't cost a whole lot so we just retouch our hair when we have to. There are other funky color dyes that are permanent but I don't know the brand names of it.

Manic Panic Hair Dye..?

it fades.

i bleached my hair then dyed it "stop sign" red %26amp; it faded to pink after a month or so. it never completely washed out, i tried bleaching it twice afterward %26amp; it STILL was pink. i ended up having to dye it a darker color to cover it up.

Manic Panic Hair Dye..?

it fades really easily you would propably have to re dye it every week if you washed your hair with regular shampoo every day

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

i want to dye my hair tomorrow. im getting it at walmart. so what brand should i get? i want a dark dark brown, almost black. help please. (: i also have somewhat damaged hair so i need something that will nourish it or whatever.

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

Get Garnier, it is good color and smells good

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

garnier or revlon

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

hey I like feria %26amp; garnier ! both do a good job !

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

I like L'Oreal Feria in espresso. You should purchase some deep conditioning treatments for damaged hair too. I like Pantene.

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

Get garnier. I would go to their website for their colors. Expresso would be nice, and the conditioners would help. If you hair is really damaged I would wait and go to a proffessional colorist.

Hair dye help? :) thanks.?

Hi! I use Preference by Lo'real. It has conditioners in it and I like the texture of my hair afterward. A little advice about darker colors - don't go too much darker than your natural color. It will look artificial and may wash out your skin tone making you look pale.

Hair dye in my denim jeans?

I coloured my mates hair today and a little bit of brown hair dye splattered onto my jeans how can i get it out plz help

Hair dye in my denim jeans?

Your screwed, that stuff never comes out

Hair dye in my denim jeans?

i agree with kirstin faye

Hair dye in my denim jeans?

If you had got it when it was wet, just maybe, possibly. Soaked in....not a chance. if theyre light blue jeans, try VERY careful applications of stuff like vinager, lemon, I dont know, bleach mixtures ect, DONT get it on the surrounding area, use a cotton bud.

Hair dye help black with red?

Ok so I have dark brown hair now and I want to go black with red streaks. I want to do this all by myself. So how do I do it? Do I put in blonde streaks and die the rest of my hair black then put in the red do I die it all black then put in the blond and the red can I do it all in one day do I have to wait a few weeks

how long after i dye it black shoud i wait to die it blond then red?pleas help

Hair dye help black with red?

i think that would look great but u should go to the salon or have a pro do it just in case u mess up and did it horribly

Hair dye help black with red?

Don't know never dyed my hair before, but that seems like it would look cool to have black and red hair!

Hair dye help black with red?

Dye you hair black then add the red. My brother used to use Black cheey kool-aid and had the best red with black.

Hair dye help black with red?

Bleach the parts you want to be red, dye the black parts(foil over bleached parts should be good enough to not dye it) and then dye the bleached parts(dont have to be careful)

Hair dye help black with red?

i wouldnt reccomend you do this yourself and i am a big supporter in doing most things with hairdye yourself

but because your using black you really dont wanna damage your hair more than you have to and getting black to be blonde will be really damaging

Hair dye help black with red?

You have to dye it black and then bleach it. Probably at least twice, too.

I did mine something similar, but a pink chunk in the back instead of red streaks.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c397/y...

Hair dye help black with red?

OK, OK, Unless you are a hairdresser and know what your doing don't do it go somewhere and do it, you will mess your hair up. Really you have to know exactly what your doing some hairdressers don't even do their own highlights they let someone else do it because first of all they cant see what their doing, my suggestion is... if you want pretty hair and don't want to mess up your hair go to a hairdresser.

Hair dye help black with red?

My mom's a hairdresser, and the only advice is not to die it again.

Dying your hair too much causes it to dry up, and get thin and stringy. If it goes on to long, you'll be bald.

You CAN'T die your hair red, then blond, every week. Your straining your hair. I only die my hair every so often, stick with your hair right now.

Hair dye help black with red?

my friend did this but with blue, dye it black then do blonde and die the blonde red =D good luck!

but i would recommend to have it done professionally anyways just to be sure =)

Hair dye help black with red?

Bleach the strands you want blonde for the red.

Cover them with foil after done processing and is rinsed and dry.

Then use your black to dye the rest of your hair.

If using a chemical red, wait a few days before putting it in.

If using something like manic panic or punky's color or stella, you can do it after your black is done.

Hair dye help black with red?

I actually used to dye hair professionally. You can easily do the bleaching and the black dye at the same time. I regularly wear my hair black and red or blue, etc. It takes a lot of time to do everything in seperate steps... So i do the black and bleaching at the same time. I use foil on the bleach parts to cover it from the black. The bleach can stay on for up to an hour. Your black hair dye should turn off automatically after 25 to 35 minutes so don't worry about leaving the hair dye on too long.... besides you're going black... so it's won't get too black trust me :) The darker the better with crazy colors. After the bleaching is at least to orange you can go ahead and put the red on... BUT if you are doing blue or purple... you really want to get the bleached part extra light... or the yellow left in your hair will mix with the blue in the dye and make your hair look black/green... which is stupid looking lol. Good luck :)

Also keep in mind... all the vegetable based dies like manic panic, etc can be used immediately after dying/bleaching you don't need to wait... but be sure when you use the manic panic, etc that you cover your skin with petroleum that stuff stains awful. And keep in mind retouches will be neccessary like every other day to every 3 days if you want to maintain vivid coloring :) I am doing my hair blue-black with turquiose, blue and violet streaks... i'll email you a picture if you want... angelpuffer@aol.com

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

i dyed my hair (permanent) black last night. My original hair color was dark brown, the dye color was black pearl, and it was by clariol. The problem is, it kind of looks like a wig. Does this always happen? i want to make it fade slightly so that it looks normal, right now it almost has a blueish tint. will this go away over time?how can i accomplish this without totally drying out my hair? thanks :)

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

Black hair dye ALWAYS results in a wig-type appearance, no matter which make dye you use.

You need to keep washing your hair as much as possible over the next week or so. I've had the same problem in the past and literally had to wash my hair over and over to make the dye soften.

It will gradually improve over the next few weeks, but apart from washing it, there's not really much you can do, as you can't lighten black hair dye by using another colour.

The only other option is to have the dye 'stripped' out at a hair salon. I'd advise against this; it's quite uncomfortable, costly, and also time consuming.

The black dye will look more natural in about two weeks and you'll probably like it much better.

In future, if you still want very dark hair you're far better off with a 'darkest brown' shade; this will look almost black but without the 'flat' wig-like colour. Clairol Nice%26amp;Easy do a very dark brown; I've used it and it looked practically like black, but softer.

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

stay out in the sun, leave it down and it should lighten up a little

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

that will fade and change for sure don't worry about it...you can use suave clarifying shampoo or prell mixed with baking soda

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

i used to dye my hair all the time sorry to say you just have to wait for it to fade ou wash it as normal and see the colour fade.

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

Wash with hot water and sit in the sun to dry your hair!!!!

Good luck

-mel

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

my mom is a certified cosmitologist, and has taught me well. wash your hair a few times with out using conditioner. if this does not work for the brand that you used, (i've never used it so im not posivive.) then wait until you dye it again and instead of waiting the full waiting period to wash it out, wash it 5-10 minutes early.

Make black hair dye fade slightly so it looks normal?

If you wash your hair with Neutrogena T-gel shampoo it will fade the I just colored my hair look and it does not hurt your hair. I to have dark brown hair and I dye my hair monthly the best bet is to use a dark brown instead of black and it will turn your hair black but you will not have the blue tint.

HAIR DYE (Pic inside)?

YOU SHOULD DYE A ALBURN COLOR NOT SO DARK BUT NOT SO LIGHT.

HAIR DYE (Pic inside)?

go to a salon who use Loreal professional products and get them to foil out chunky splices in hot red. Loreal have a colour range that lightens and colours naturally dark hair at the same time so it doesn't dry your hair out as much as prebleaching and colouring. The red would look awsome on your dark hair and complextion. Don't try it yourself though. Hope this is helpful

HAIR DYE (Pic inside)?

Leave it but put some blond highlite's

HAIR DYE (Pic inside)?

i think u should die it dark black/blue

HAIR DYE (Pic inside)?

ditto on the AMAZING eyes, and your hair looks good with the eyes, deff. not lighter maybe a couple blue streaks but i like it the way it is

Help with at home hair dye for blondes.?

I have golden blonde hair and my roots are growing in a bit (im naturally a brunette)...I usually just do at home dye's to touch up my roots but I wanted to go a hue darker. Nothing drastic, just a little warmer. My hair color descends from a golden blonde at my roots to a lighter blonde at the tips...I want something a little more carmel/honey colored. What would be my best bet? Which brand is the best to do this? I last used Revlon ...that new line, cant remember what it's called...but it has the color lasting conditioner that you use once a week...I dyed my hair golden blonde with that.

I also wanted to add that about two years ago I tried to go a bit darker with an ash blonde color and it made a part of my hair purple almost...I had to wash it twice until it went away then my hair looked like it had red in it....that was Revlon too, but it was the cheap box that is like 3 bucks.

Help with at home hair dye for blondes.?

Stay away from the cheap boxed haircolor from drug stores %26amp; grocery stores. Visit you local Sally Beauty Supply and buy a professional haircolor like Clairol Professional or Wella. Some Clairol brands: Miss Clairol, Complements or Clairol Professional Premium Creme. In Wella, choose Wella American Classics Permanent liquid or creme. Pick a blonde shade by comparing the hair swatch samples displayed on shelf. To obtain more of a carmel, honey, choose a blonde with a violet base. This will cancel out some of the warmth, but still leave enough to give you a honey beige. Be certain to choose the appropriate developer. If you are brunette and like that blonde look, you probably need to consider using a 30 - 40 volume developer. DO NOT apply this haircolor to your ends, only your roots...that's why you ended up with purple ends. If you want to refresh the color on your ends, you need an entirely different formula for the mid-shaft to ends. In this case, you need a deposit only, no lift, no ammonia haircolor like: Clairol's Radiance, Clairol's Complements Demi, Clairol's Second Nature or Wella's Color Charm Demi. Again, view the swatches on display to select the shade you are looking for. You will need to apply permanent on your roots, let it process 20 minutes, then apply the 2nd formula of demi on your mid-shaft to ends, let it process 10 minutes and then rinse, shampoo, and condition your entire head. In reality...you may just want to make it easier by visiting your hairdresser. This is a major process.

Help with at home hair dye for blondes.?

If you are still planning on doing a blonde shade and you have dark roots coming in I WOULD NOT recommend doing it at home! Blonde is tricky and I would never recommend going anywhere but a professional to deal with blonde shades. I can't tell you the number of horror stories I have been through with blonde. My hair literally turned a green color (no chlorine involved!) a couple times. Also a professional can tell when the color has developed so you don't leave it on too long. The box colors just give you a GUIDELINE and if you leave it on too long for your hair, I PROMISE YOU, you will regret it. And then you will end up going to a salon to get it fixed!

I have also gone the route of going to an actual beauty supply store and had the same results. Much of the color process depends on how long it takes your hair to take the color. So if you buy professional grade and don't know how to tell if the color is developed in your hair, don't do it that way either.

i have natually LIGHT blonde hair and i tried to dye it light brown but it ended u briht red with dark purple low-lights. any ideas how to help the color to fade quickly because i cant go to my hair guy till tmrw cuz its not open on mondays...i have tried dawn dish soap and clarifying shamopoo... have heard of loreal Color Zap...does anyone know if that works? Im trying mixing Dawn Dish Soap, Clarifying Shampoo and vinegar...does anyone have any other things i could try?

Hair Dye Mishap's HELP?

Use Head and Shoulders...lather up and leave it for 10 minutes, then rinse it out. Don't put too much on your hair or else your stylist won't be able to do anything to fix it.

Hair Dye Mishap's HELP?

all those things will dry out your hair making it harder for your hairdresser to fix. just wear a cap and wait till u can see him .

Hair Dye Mishap's HELP?

Leave it how it is, sounds cool.

Try Useing A Stripper (No Not A Person)... The stripper should take the colour out ur hair... but dont dye it lol by the way if u wnated to dye ur hair brown ulld have to dye ur hair red first then brown as the colours mix its like mixing paints together

Please help me... If i dye over my medium brown hair that has blonde highlights...?

to a dark ash brown in 5 cool.. what will happen?

the cool ash tones is supposed to eliminate red/orange tones,

but right now my roots are growing in really dark brown, about a little bit more then half an inch...and the rest of my hair is medium brown with a reddish hue to it [from the sun] %26amp; medium blonde skinny highlights all over,

if i dye my hair that dark brown with ash cooler tones in it what will happen to the highlights?

ive heard so many things, like the blonde will turn orange,

and the rest of my hair will be the color of the dye,

and ive also heard that when im going to dye it my hair will be that color, but the highlights will be lighter or uneven.

I dont know what to expect.. can anyone who has had exiprence or know hair well, tell me what will happen?

[and please dont suggest for me to go to the salon or see a professional.. i bought the hair dye and im doing it today. going to the salon isnt an option.]

thnx!

%26lt;3

Please help me... If i dye over my medium brown hair that has blonde highlights...?

If you're not willing to consider going to a salon, our answers here aren't really going to tell you anything other than pure speculation on what will happen because there isn't really any advice other than see a professional to be had here. You have pretty much heard all of the possibilities already. I'd say the most likely of those would be that the blonde highlights will turn out an odd shade, as hair that has been lightened to blonde typically doesn't get colored over well at home unless the shade of the new color is very, very dark. Good luck though.

Please help me... If i dye over my medium brown hair that has blonde highlights...?

I think it will dye fine. The if the highlights are chemically done they might not die as well as uncolored hair. I've seen some girls have died over highlights look greenishing with an ashy die.

Please help me... If i dye over my medium brown hair that has blonde highlights...?

it'll b ok

Help choosing a hair dye suitable for me?

I'm naturally a brunette, but 6 months ago, I went crazy, died my hair black, then bleached it (went orange), then died it brown again. Now, the summer sun and pool water has taken a lot of the color out, and half of my hair is blond, while the roots are my natural brown. It's blended okay, and the blond isn't really, really blond, so it's not an urgent delema, but I was thinking pretty seriously about dying all of my hair a little darker brown than my natural color. I'm going to use an off-the-counter box dye, so if anyone has any suggestions for a dye that will color evenly (I'm afraid my roots will turn out darker than the blond part), won't fade quickly, and won't damage my hair, all that jaz... definately appriciate it.

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

I've never ever dyed my hair but i bought some loreal stuff today and wanna do it....but i also need a haircut. should i get it cut before i dye it or does it really matter?

2nd: it says do not use if you have a tattoo....well i have a tattoo on the back on my shoulder that i got in 99. should i still heed to the warning and not use it?

My hair was blonde but has turned brown naturally with a little hint of a blonde still in it but i just want it one color now so i got a little bit deeper of a brown....

thanks a ton!

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

Wise choice going darker and not lighter. You should dye your hair first, the ends hold the dye the longest, so will naturally be darker, by having it cut afterward you'll be helping the color look more natural faster. If your worried about your tatoo cover it with gauze and tape first.

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

id go to a salan to get ur hair died for hte first time, an id get my hair cut fisrt too, no since using color ur not gonna keep on ur head lol

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

Well i would dye my hair first than cut it according to how your color came out. That way if your wanna wear your hair with a part in the left center your color might show more in that area. I have dyed my hair before and never see anything about don't use if u have a tattoo, but than again i don't exactly read all the instructions. Also call their customer service line the number should be in your instruction booklet, and ask them that question.

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

You should dye your hair first for sure then get the haircut. I've never heard anything about the tattoo warning, maybe you should cover it up with a towel or something before you use the hair dye.

Dye or Cut first? and warning on hair dye?

its fine to use it even if u have a tattoo

BUT DO NOT LET THE DYE TOUCH THE TATTOO

and u always dye your hair before cutting it

i do not want to bleach it, or cut it. i tried the whole lemon thing in your hair, sit out in the sun..it did absolutely nothing. i washed my hair a biilliiion times with a ton of different shampoos and nothing helped. i also tried some johnsons baby shampoo, nothing. Oh, almost forgot, i used this hair fye before, but black. and it came out when it was supposed to..so i have no idea what's wrong.

this red dye hasn't come out since..march break..so about 2 months!

I NEED HELP!

BADLY!

HELP! how do you get TEMPORARY hair dye out??

Relax just wait for it. I've used it before. Notice every time you shampoo more and more color washes out. It will start to fade in no time. Don't recolor it because then you might damage your hair. It won't take more than a month i'd say before it is all almost gone.

HELP! how do you get TEMPORARY hair dye out??

well there is special hair stuff to lift the dye out of ure hair.......or you can just wash your hair a lot.....or theres are shappoos and conditionsers that will help get it out....just read the lables.....

HELP! how do you get TEMPORARY hair dye out??

just get in the shower 2ce aday, evryday.really rinse it hard.it'll come out,i kno,i've done it b4.XD

Black hair dyed red... now I want to dye it black?

I basically got my hair dyed red (more brownish red) and now I want my natural black back. Can I dye it natural black over the red? Will it come out black or light brown or what???

Black hair dyed red... now I want to dye it black?

It may have a tinge of warmth/red tone to it, nothing too noticeable. You could definitely put a black color over it.

And for the person above, if your family has a bunch of hairdressers, then you'd know that your hair is already dead. It will cause damage if you keep coloring over it again and again, but if you're just doing the retouch, you will not lose your hair.

Black hair dyed red... now I want to dye it black?

Go ahead, you might have just a tint of red in there though.

I've done it before,it will look fine.

Black hair dyed red... now I want to dye it black?

your hair will never be your natural color unless you let it grow out. if you contunie to dye your hair whenever it fades out, your hair will eventually die %26amp; fall out as you start to get older. i know this because my family are hairdressers.

Black hair dyed red... now I want to dye it black?

You need to strip your hair first then you wouldnt have to die it bck because it was black to begin with!

!Hair Dye, Allergic Reactions!?

Hi,

Im getting highlights next week, and in the next few months im thinking fo colouring my hair completely. I saw on GMTV this morning that girl that died her hair and without knowing she was allergic to the product, she got a reaction. I want to use these products but not have no reaction, what are the safest ways to go about avoiding bad products and reactions to chemicals in the dye's. Any information will be very helpful.

Thanks -Gabbana xox

!Hair Dye, Allergic Reactions!?

In the salon, we do a small patch test if we suspect a client may have sensitive skin. Highlights won't be a problem, because the product doesn't usually touch the scalp. If you're worried, test a small bit of the color on your wrist( if you're doing it at home) or ask your stylist to . I've been a hairstylist for 11 years and have only had one person who was allergic to the color. It's very rare. Store bought haircolor is not as high quality as professional color, but millions of people use it, and I've never heard of anyone having a skin reaction. If you're having this done in a salon, just voice your concerns, and they'll probably do a patch test first.

!Hair Dye, Allergic Reactions!?

I would only recomend reading the label on the box before using it. Because every different color contains their little secrets.

!Hair Dye, Allergic Reactions!?

The dye for highlights is brushed on and separated by foils so there is not much contact between the dye and your scalp.

As for all over color, talk to your colorist about having a patch test beforehand if you're worried.

Re: coloring your hair at home. A patch test to determine whether or not you are allergic is recommended before each application.

Hair Dye- Black?

I have dark brown hair, brown eyes and my skin is tanned. I want to dye my hair black. Do you think it will look good?

Hair Dye- Black?

yes

Hair Dye- Black?

What colour is your hair now?

But anyway I think as long as you keep your skin tanned, black would look really good, or maybe with a blueish/plummy tinge to make it more funky?

Hair Dye- Black?

no

Hair Dye- Black?

Sure.. just remember that once you dye your hair black.. it's hard to change it again without damaging it, because you have to strip it. I love black hair though.

Hair Dye- Black?

No! Unless you don't care about it looking natural.

Hair Dye- Black?

no. stay w/ your natural hair color.

Hair Dye- Black?

depends on what shade of black and what style you sport, but nature often does a good job of making people's color match already.

it's all temporary!

Hair Dye- Black?

no , dont ever dye your hair black..its like hell to get out AND it frys your hair

Hair Dye- Black?

yes but be careful it is messy and stains your face and neck

to get the stains off mix salt with a little shampoo.

Hair Dye- Black?

go for it.

Hair Dye- Black?

proboly yeah

Hair Dye- Black?

if i were u i would stay with brown hair just bcuz my frend did the same thing and he looked horible

Hair Dye- Black?

If you want your hair black untill it grows out then go for it but if you just want to try it, dont! You can not die over black die. It doesnt faid away.

Hair Dye- Black?

YES! Brunettes are much hotter than blondes.

Hair Dye- Black?

I think since you have tanned skin and dark eyebrows and all it should look alright!! Good Luck! =)

Hair Dye- Black?

YES I THINK IT WOULD LOOK GREAT BUT REMEMBER THAT ONCE YOU COLOR YOUR HAIR YOU HAVE TO KEEP UP WITH EVERY 4TO 6 WEEKS OR IT WILL BEGIN TO LOOK LIKE%^%26amp;*^%26amp;%...BLACK WILL FADE ALOT QUICKER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER COLORS..IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT YOURSELF MAKE SURE TO READ THE DIRECTIONS AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEM..DON;T TRY TO UT CORNERS...THAT'S A GOOD WAY TO %%%%EVERYTHING...HOPE YOU LIKE IT ONCE IT;S DONE...HAVE FUN

Hair Dye- Black?

i was the same i dyed my hair black and it looked great and my friend who was a huge copycat dyed her hair black and it looked like she had a wig on cause she had like a pale tan skin it was gross but it looked good on me cause i had tan skin and if you don't like it then you can take the color out with revlon hair color removed it takes out only the dyed color so it would be back to natrual

Hair Dye- Black?

it will probably look fine, but keep in mind that black is permanent, that is to say, if you want to lighten it or highlight it later it is a huge problem and often turns bright orange or purple....black is a big committment.

Hair Dye- Black?

yes, but remember once you dye it black it's very hard to go back to lighter colors so think about it. I think a light brown or chocolate would be better for summer.

Hair Dye- Black?

Stay natural. Black hair can sometimes look blue in the light which then makes the hair look fake.. You are best to stay dark brown cause it willstill make your tan look great.

Hair Dye- Black?

wow black hair color is on the rise . i have had 3 clients now in 2 days wanting it . but remember black is hard to get out and if you want hilites or some other color you will be going thru a lot and it wont happen on one visit . also dont do it yourself. personally to from your description of yourself it would look to much darkness,in the summer you naturally go lighter.

Hair Dye- Black?

nope, try a highlight in a darker blonde, or medium blonde. the contrast will make you tan pop! also try smart style salon inside wal-mart's, they're good...and pick up some Sabestian hare care product while your there, it is the very best...not too pricey, they offer about 20 products in their line...it smells like heaven, and makes your hair love you back....lots of luck...

Hair Dye- Black?

I've been coloring my hair for a long time. If you would like to have your hair black, than try a simi permanent color. It will wash out faster than a permanent color. Of course your bet bet is to have a beauty salon do it. The next best is a beauty supply store. They would be more than happy to help you out. I used to do nails, but know just a little about hair.

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

I have seen commercials for hair dye for men that says it just covers the gray hair, but I have not seen any women's dye that says that on it. I don't want to change my hair color; I only want the gray colored. Is there anything like that?

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

color will take to all of your hair. the male color products you are referring to still color all of the hair...they are semi-permanent colors though. Men use a color that is lighter than their natural to blend away the gray.

If you want the most gentle color to fade the grey a bit, then choose a semi-perm color that is lighter than your natural...that way the grey will be dimmed, but you natural color won't be changed. It will gradually fade up so that you don't have a harsh root regrowth line. If you have a lot of resistant grey, it might not be strong enough to totally cover the gray...but it is the safest way to blur the gray away.

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

Try henna.Henna does not colour the hair that much and dyes the grey hair.Plus its natural.

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

They have hair dyes for women to cover gray, but I think it colors all of the hair as well. My mom has gray mainly around the temples and she uses (and loves) what's called hair mascara. It comes in a tube and you apply it with a wand. She got hers at a beauty supply store and they had a nice selection of colors. The only problem with this is that it's not a permanent solution. You would need to apply it daily.

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

Gray hair is more resistant to hair color, and i know of none that will just color the gray. Henna is okay if you don't have clorinated water, or go into swimming pools as it will turn green or purple with the chemical reaction. The comercials don't tell you it coats the hair, not just the grey. It builds up and does exactly what i told you henna will when exposed to chlorine. A temporary hair color does a good job, and covers all the hair. The bonus is it will give shine, and make the other hair more lusterious also. It will generally wash out in two to three weeks. There are a lot more products on the market every day, I use to do hair for a living, and to keep up with all the new products is almost impossible. There are plenty that will help you though. Someone else may have a newer idea. Good Luck!

Is there any hair dye that will only color the gray and not the rest of my hair?

HI THERE!

The color they advertise for men is more gray blending that gray coverage.

You can use the same thing, if you're not going to go to a salon, on your hair. IF YOU DO, make sure you get the same color as your natural color or a shade darker. IT WILL FADE eventually. The benefit is you're not using a harsh peroxide and you won't have a line of color once your hair starts growing in.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask any other questions: latinguy1970@yahoo.com

BTW, if you do go to a salon, you can tell them you only want to blend the gray. They should know what that means. I would actually recommend you do that first before doing it at home. It might cost you a bit, but its cheaper than having it fixed.

Hair dye-Tips on putting in tips? (see details)?

I'm going to put purple tips in my hair later today (semi-perm dye), but I've never done it before. My hair is kinda layered, but not layered enough where I can seperate it into different layers easily. Any tips on the best and easiest ways to go about doing this? Also I have bangs that I wear on one side of my face...should I tip those too? Thanx for the help!!

Hair dye-Tips on putting in tips? (see details)?

Keep the bangs regular.

1.Make lots of small ponytails (at least 17) on your head.

2.Mix your bleach up and dip each pony tail into the bleach. Wrap foil around the ends so that you don't drip everywhere. 3.After your hair has turned lighter %26lt;about 10-20 minutes%26gt; rinse your hair. %26lt;keep the ponytails.%26gt;

4. Then apply the purple to the tips of the ponytails and put a plastic bag over your hair. Sit for about 25 minutes.

5. Rinse and make sure you put a clear dye over it or else it will just wash out.

Hair dye-Tips on putting in tips? (see details)?

I did this also with purple ^.^

Okay, so I had the same problem. What you do, is section off your hair, and just do a section at time, doing the tips, [it works better if you have someone help you with the back].

I just seperated my hair into different sections (with pony tail holders) and just started.

I didn't do my bangs, but it's your hair.

Hair dye-Tips on putting in tips? (see details)?

Try to seperate using clips, or barrettes, or even tiny rubberbands. Without seperating it could be a big mess- equal to painting a house without taping anything off. To acheive brighter results you need to bleach the areas you want purple first, and then dye purple. If you don't bleach it first the result will be conservative and hard to see, unless you have bright blonde or white hair naturally. Hope this helps:)

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

what works good to get hair dye off of skin after you rinse your hair?

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

RUBBING ALCOHOL AND A COTTON BALL

YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK ON IT ,IT TAKES SOME TIME BUT IT'S BETTER THAN WAITING FOR IT TO WEAR OFF

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

you should try soap %26amp; water, if it doesn't work, just wait a day or so. it should fade in less time than that

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

lmao it happens to everybody, it fades after a couple of days but you could try rubbing alchole, it makes tempory tattoos come off

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

i just use soap and water

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The next time you color your hair rub shampoo on the color that got on your skin....before you rinse. This will wash the color right off the skin.

Hair dye problem!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Rubbing alcohol worked best for me. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get off. But it works!

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

Ok.. so I was wondering... I wanted to streak/highlight parts of my hair pink. I was wondering...Instead of buying a bleaching kit...would it be just the same as buying blonde hair dye? I have dark brown hair. I really dont mind buying a bleach kit, it's just more convinient to do regular hair dye..ANY opinions?

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

Hair is based on a numbers system. 1 thru 10. One=black. Ten=Blondest Blonde. (it can go up to a 12, but that's TMI) You sound like ur a 1, 2 or 3. BUY BLEACH. Blonde color, ESPECIALLY over the counter, will ruin any sort of social life you may have! Buy your bleach thru a friend in the biz. If u don't know a stylist or have a license, go to a SALLY'S type store.(LINK BELOW) Get a REPUTABLE bleach. (KALIEDACOLORS, BW 2000) Creme Developer. (the people working in Sally's are not required to know a lick about hair, BTW. No offense to them) So don't bother asking their help. It is vital that u do not rinse the bleach too soon. If you peek @ it and see orange after rubbing some bleach off of a section, DO NT PANICK! When lifting, (especially on dark hair) you r REMOVING color from hair. It happens in stages:dark red, to red orange to orange, pale orange then yellow. After yellow u can tone to a platinum blonde

In u'r case you can rinse @ the PALE orange to pale yellow phase. (avg. about 45 minutes off the scalp) because ur not going for platinum. remember, 3 things: nothing is guaranteed here. i would have to see ur hair to guarantee the results of my recommendation. 2) go to a salon and have this done! and finally, salons charge on avg. $100 an hour for color CORRECTION. And only (avg.) $90 to $120(ish) for color.

Peace, love and hair grease,

buddhamoon

Thanks a lot that really helped me a lot! Your a Sweetheart! Report It

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

i would bleach it cause ur hair is dark but becareful on what kinda bleach kit u get

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

look at the side of the box of hair dye, some of them have the "if your hair is this... this is what it will look like" and most of the blonde dyes are made for people who already have light hair, and don't even have the power to lighten such dark hair. I'd just go with a bleaching/lightening kit. the Herbal Essence bleaching is wonderful, by the way, very conditioning.

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

bleaching kit that are made for highlights

Bleaching Kits or Blonde Hair Dye? I am going to streak my hair PINK.?

You need to bleach bath the strands that u want to colour , then colour those pink

Temporary hair dye still here!?

I dyed my hair a slightly darker shade, from dark blonde to copper brown, using L'Oreal temporary hair dye which is supposed to last up to 6 weeks. This was about 3 months ago, and its still pretty much the same colour, only faded a tiny bit. Now I'm getting my roots showing, and I used temporary to avoid this. Has anyone else had this same problem, and how long did it take to fade out completely? thank you

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Temporary hair dye isn't temporary.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

You forgot!!! You need to buy the L'Oreal hair cleaner.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

I used a blue temporary dye on my hair for about 6 months and it never came out, i had to let it grow out and cut it off. Color remover and clarifying treatments didn't even take it out. It was Manic Panic, though. i think it all depends on the product. i've had some that actually did wash out in a month too. you might want to try Color remover you can get from the beauty supply store, it does work on some semi-permanents to remove it.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Try washing your hair with dish liquid (Dawn, etc) for a few minutes and rinse with warm/hot water. Make sure to condition afterwards, as dish soap tends to be drying. Darndruff shampoos and hot oil treatments are also notorious for fading hair dyes.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Hair dyes in blondes usually last longer, just get a dye stripping kit from the drugstore or dye your hair your natural color so the change is less noticeable.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

I would talk to a professional at L'Oreal about this. They have a customer service number on their website somewhere...

Temporary hair dye still here!?

I have done the same thing. I had blonde hi-lights and wondered if a block colour would look better for winter, but they have not re-appeared, that was two months ago using L'oreal temporary.

I was beginning to wonder if they put the wrong stuff in the pack I bought. Maybe they did!!!

Have you tried the root touch up?

Temporary hair dye still here!?

try going to different salons and asking their opinion, I get answers most of the time by second third and fourth opions without having to spend money. someone also told me once that peroxide could do the trick but i would really recommend seeking a professionals advise

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Try tomato sauce, it takes out dye and chlorine! If that doesnt work try out hot oil! My liitle sister dyed her hair temporary red and her hair stayed pink for days! My mom tried these simple tricks! Try it out!

Temporary hair dye still here!?

honestly temp. dye never really fades out. also it somewhat shifts the tone of your natural hair color(you will NEVER have the same color have as you had)

Temporary hair dye still here!?

i did exactly the same thing and iv ended up having it highlited again cus i couldnt wait any longer, mind you iv only had a few in but its made loads of difference and made my hair go a really nice colour so im glad i died it now and that it didnt wash completely out.

I hear head and shoulders does the trick tho although iv never tried it.

but if you want instant change,a few highlites is the way to go.

we learn by mistakes, never again.good luck.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Hey, well this year I dyed me hair many different colours all temporary, and depending on your hair they can stain...I am dealing with the same problem, my hair dresser has said that putting my natural colour highlights through the hair will help it to fade faster, and make the roots less noticeable. It all depends on your hair.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

causeu had light hair to start with its like a base so colour sticks to it and stays there.

i dont think it will come out completley.

go too a hairdressing shop like sally or capital and buy a colour stripper.

its a "dye" that strips all the colour from ya hair.

Temporary hair dye still here!?

Colour ontop of colour or occasionally ontop of blonde hair doesn't come out these things are just a guide and it also depends on your hair. Try using a blonde toner to neutralise the red in it while your colour grows out.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

i put a semi permanent dark brown hair dye on 2 days ago and it came out almost black. i hate it, is there any way i can get the dye out or wash it out more quickly?

Hair dye disaster, help!?

sampoo it everyday

Hair dye disaster, help!?

It will fade eventually, my friend had the same problem and now it is a lovely rich brown

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Ask in Boots or similar

Hair dye disaster, help!?

relax....been there, done that....be patient ...it will lighten in a few washes. Don't dye it again...to cover it up...it will fry your hair. Just wair it curly or wear it up....take attention away from the color change.....good luck!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Go for a lighter permant color to lift the semi color

Hair dye disaster, help!?

dark dye is the worst to get out, just shampoo every day and dont put anything else on your hair to color it. That sux dont feel bad been washing my hair out for three months

Hair dye disaster, help!?

It will knacker your hair for a while, but, I did this when I used a black hair dye with hideous results. Use head and shoulders shampoo. Massage it in leave if for a couple of minutes and rinse. Keep repeating. The manufacturers of the hair dye actually suggested it and it does work. You will probably use about half the bottle and you'll have to do some major conditioning after you've finished as your hair will feel like straw, but it does work. After a few days of deep conditioning on your hair it will be fine. Good luck.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

A really GOOD hairdresser will be able to strip out the colour, but some wont want the responsibility of the condition of your hair and will ask you to sign a disclaimer.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Wash and wash and wash. It should be cleared after 8-14 washes. But be sure to condition your hair well, otherwise you will strip it of all natural oils and it will be dry, brittle and prone to damage.

The best option would be to visit a hair salon to ask their advice, but I guess if you are like me, and colouring at home, then you probably don't have that sort of money to spare!

It will fade after a few washes, and you will get more used to it in between. Don't despair!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

fairy washing up liquid.....strips the hair a treat .....you will need a really good conditioner after though!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Semi Permanent colors will fade. For now, wash it a few times with dish soap, it is alkaline and will swell the hair to help those color molecules slip out faster. You can also do a cocktail shampoo. Mix up some bleach and add it to some shampoo. It will work very quick and try not to scrub your scalp with it.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

No, you have to wait, I'm sure you look good anyway

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Get highlights. Regis have a lot of times a 6 foil special for $25.

Get blond highlights, it will look beautiful. Wait a few days before u go there.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

get yourself a bottle of head and shoulders and wash it every day until you get the shade you like...I have done the same in the past and this is what my hairdresser advised!I also find leaving it on my hair for a few mins before rinsing helps. also, go for a lighter shade of brown cos they always come out a lot darker than they say on the box. if they say leave the dye on for 20 mins, take it off after 15! good luck, I'm sure it looks good anyway!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Wash your hair about 5 times in one day. It will take alot of it out. Then condition the crap out of it!!! YOur hair will be dry but not damaged!!!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Use a dandruff shampoo.. they are harsher %26amp; will wash the color out faster. But your hair will need a lot of conditioner as well. They go to a salon %26amp; have it professionally dyed.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

If it's semi permanent and you have not used it on dyed hair, shampoo repeatedly until it lightens. If you've used it on dyed hair, you'll need to get a pre lightener to strip the colour out and then dye it again (with a lighter colour). Stripping the colour can leave your hair very dry and frizzy, usually better to go to the hairdressers for this, but will be pricey if done by the hairdresser.

Hair dye disaster, help!?

Washing helps, obviously. When I was younger I dyed semi-permanent "mango" and went swimming in clorinated water and it all came out...now I am not sure if that will happen and if it will be a desireable color...You can go to your hairdresser and they can tone it also which isn楹搕 too expensive. But I would just wash it a few times and you楹揹 be suprised that it will lift in about 1 week only. Best of luck!

Hair dye disaster, help!?

wash your hair repeatedly with dish detergent. just make sure to condition, because detergent will strip the moisture with the color

Hair dye disaster!?

OK I dyed my hair "brown chocolate" and now its black.I hate it and I need to find a way to lighten it or get rid of it all together before monday. Is it possible or should i just dye it again?

Hair dye disaster!?

It should lighten up with a few washes, I also dyed my hair to a chocolate brown at the salon and it looked really black but within a week (washed it every day) it turned to a dark brown.

Hair dye disaster!?

go to a salon!!!! Tell them and they will fix it for you.

Hair dye disaster!?

Have you tried rinsing it a few more times? This happened to my best friend, and she washed it with non-color treated hair shampoo and it lightened up. I wouldn't re-dye it because you'll damage your hair... but if you do have to, go about 2 shades lighter (they always come out darker so that they don't fade as quickly) and use a GOOD conditioning treatment right afterwards!

But try to re-wash it - get in the shower and wash it about 3x, rubbing the strands between your palms.

Hair dye disaster!?

Start washing with very hot water, that will wash out a lot of the color. Or you could redye it but wait a day or two and choose a light color than you think you need. Choc. brown is very dark, go with a liter brown. Good luck. Of course you can always call the company their number should be on the box and they can also give you some answers.

Hair dye disaster!?

omg i know how you feel! i died mine "dark brown" 3 weeks ago and i came out COMPLETELY black. i hated it.

Tips on getting dye out that worked for me:

1)wash hair with prell and scrub out

2) a mixture of tide and water (wash it in, then follow w/ a good conditioner)

3)Regular hand soap such as dove works

my hair was pretty much back to normal after 2 weeks and now i love it =]

Hair dye disaster!?

It will wash out!!! Try shampooing your hair as many times as you can and use a shampoo like pantene pro-v "classic clean" that should strip off alot of the color. Hope this helps!!!

Hair dye disaster!?

They sell hair color remover and it works. I think they might sell it at walmart.

Hair dye disaster!?

You could lighten/warmen it up with highlights and lowlights from the drugstore/CVS that come in the boxes. heres my suggestions/example:

Highlight color {not to light ot it will contrast against the black so much it makes it look darker/more noticable}:

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1236/1056...

lowlight color:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2020/1848...

you could get both or just 1. :3 hope that helpsss.

Hair dye disaster!?

Salons are very expensive! It is teriable for your hair but if you want a cheap and quick fix, bleach it. Bleach will make it lighter but make sure you read the box. Once you bleached it you can leave it as it is or dye it again.

A safer option is a product called Color Opps. I takes out the color of your dyed hair. Your natural hair will be revealed but like bleach, it still isn't great for your hair.

All this can be found at your local drugstore (ex. Walgreens)

In time it will naturaly fade.

Hope I Helped!

Hair dye disaster!?

The only way to lighten it the best and healthiest way is to get it done professionally, but it might cost alot. if you wash it with a clarifying shampoo or a shampoo that is not color safe and is a cheap brand it will pull some of the color out, but not all of it. There is no quick fix to this.

Hair dye disaster!?

I did this to get rid of reddish hi-lights and my hair turned

black.....rinse with dawn dish soap (original),

my hair is very thick and healthy so I did dye my hair

and then I just used a quality conditioner after each

shampoo

that is KEY otherwise your hair won't fall out it will

get dry, damaged and break off.

good luck oh and stick with the same brand of hair

dye...you could go to a salon for a fix but be ready

to pay...I called my sis she is out of state for help

as she has been doing hair for years.

Hair dye disaster!?

use shampoo. my hair used to be black and now its like

carmel, blonde, black, dark brown, brown, and light brown.

once you wait a while your hair color can change.

or just use some shampoo.

easiest way is salon!

Hair dye disaster!?

Here is the hair remover..and you might need to use 2 boxes for or varies on how much hair you have?

They sell it at walmart and walgreens or CVS..Use a hat for now and run like thw wind..
